welcome to the record reaper

Updated: Jan 13, 2021

If you're reading this, you've probably looked at the rest of the site and know a fair amount about me, but if you're directly linking in: welcome, friends, to the record reaper! This is a loose collection of music and film reviews, mixes, things I find interesting, etc. I've been a radio DJ for 9 years as of 2021 (which is truly spooky), and I've spent the past five years DJing for KWVA 88.1 FM. I've worked in music marketing, nonprofit marketing and management, event production, and have gigged professionally for about four years. I currently work with Dub-Stuy Records out of Brooklyn, N.Y. where I handle digital marketing, content production and whatever else needs to be done. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none kinda guy with a deep passion for music, music history, and ethnomusicology. However, Anthony Fantano I am not; I listen to mostly Jamaican, world, and hip-hop records, and the more cult/underground/unlistenable a recording appears to be the more I'm interested in it. Most of the time I buy my records from Moon Rock Records or at House of Records

This is a pure passion project; all thoughts, opinions, and views stated in these posts are entirely my own. I'll link you to my sources whenever possible, try to maintain a balanced headspace, and occasionally go on tangents that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. That being said, thanks for taking the time out of your day to check this out, however disjointed my thoughts may be. Now let's get into it!
